he impressed the Kenyan online community with
displays of his skilled hand.

using empty Blueband tin.
The success of the young lad has taken over the
internet, as he made rough-and-ready solar
powered batteries that light up their home at
night. The same contraption which is housed in a
half a kilo tub of ‘Blueband margarine’ tin also
features a USB port that can charge a phone.

The solar-powered blueband tin.
He collects old pieces of solar panels which he
re-assembles to make his own generators-
charges it by the day and uses it when the
darkness creeps in, by making use of empty
Blueband containers.
I hope the right set of people locate and
appreciate his talent!

Flying a sports car with wings

Nevertheless, as we swoop over Florida's Tampa

enthusiastically take over the controls of the ICON
A5, a two-seater amphibious plane that looks like
a sports car, maneuvers like a jet ski and is so
intuitive, the company says that even a novice
can learn to fly it in less than 30 hours.
At 23 feet long and weighing in a 1,510 pounds,
it's known as a sea light-sport aircraft.
Designed to help you focus on the freedom of
flying without worrying if the plane will react
unpredictably, there's nothing else quite like it on

MMM participant commits suicide in Enugu

– The body of a final year student of the
University of Nigeria, Nsukka has been found
dangling from a rope in his room
– The deceased left a note behind where he
apologised to his family, according to accounts
by a source close to the family
– The university authorities have confirmed the
incident, but said the family has not officially
informed the institution
Authorities at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka,
have confirmed the death of a final year student
who reportedly committed suicide.
A final year student of agricultural engineering at
the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, who is also
reported to be a participant of the Mavrodi
Mondial Movement investment scheme (MMM),
has committed suicide.

Premium Times reports the student, identified as
Tobechukwu Okeke was found on Sunday
morning, November 27, dangling from a rope in
his room at Odenigwe, a community in Nsukka,
Enugu state.
The deceased was said to have left a note behind
where he apologised to his family, according to
accounts by a neighbor close to the family.
The contents of the note read: “Mother, Father,
brother, I’m sorry. Ify, may your children never
suffer. Uncle Mathias, you gave me all. I am
sorry. Death calls. Linguistic department, I am
sorry. Okeke Tobechukwu S. 2012/185649,” the
neighbour, who did not want to be named said.
Though the cause of Mr. Okeke’s death is yet to
be ascertained, some of his neighbours suggested
that he was in debt, some said he was tired of
schooling, others attributed his suicide to the loss
of money in a network business he invested into.

The deceased’s last Facebook posts showed he
had been involved in the controversial MMM
scheme as he used his account to advertise the
scheme.
His last post, in September, read: “MMM is
enriching lives of millions of Nigerians everyday. If
you care to join or you have any questions please
send me a message or comment below.”
One of the deceased’s colleagues, who also did
not want to be named, said he was given an
electrical wiring job to do at the department of
linguistics in the university, because of his
expertise in electrical works.
“I saw him this (Sunday) morning, he seemed to
have a problem which he needed money to solve,”
the colleague added.
The university authorities have also confirmed the
incident, but said the family had not officially
informed the institution.
Uju Umo, the university’s dean of student affairs
said: “I travelled for a burial last weekend and
yesterday I got a text message saying a student
had committed suicide.”
“It happened at Odenigwe, one of the host
communities outside the school and I was told he
left a suicide note apologising to his fellow
gamblers. ”
Similarly, Chukwu Emmanuel, the university’s
student union president, also confirmed the
incident, and said the matter was being
investigated.
“There’s no concrete details for now, ” he added.

Recall that the House of Representatives recently
asked the EFCC and the Central Bank of Nigeria
to immediately go after the promoters MMM in
Nigeria.
Lawmakers strongly opposed the investment
scheme, which lately gained popularity among
Nigerians in the wake of the current economic
recession in the country.
MMM promises 30 per cent return on investment
for any money put into the scheme within 30
days.
The investment scheme has a Russian origin and
involves directing clients to make money available
for an anonymous person with a promise of 30
per cent return within one month.

PDP rejects Ondo election results

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has
officially rejected the results of the governorship
election held in Ondo state on Saturday,
November 26.
INEC had declared APC’s Rotimi Akeredolu
(centre) winner of the Ondo election
The PDP said in a statement signed by its
spokesperson Prince Dayo Adeyeye, on Monday,
November 28 that the Independent National
Electoral Commission (INEC) helped the All
Progressives Congress (APC) to rig the Ondo
election.

The party said INEC has now “graduated from
inconclusive Elections as seen in Kogi, Bayelsa,
Osun, FCT, Imo, Nassarawa and some other
previous By-Elections in the Country to ‘Advanced
Election Rigging’, as in the case of Edo and Ondo
States Gubernatorial Elections”.
It added: “It is common knowledge that the APC
Agents openly bought votes of the electorates in
the full glare of security operatives who did
nothing to prevent such dastardly violation of the
Electoral Law.
“It is not surprising that the electorates in Ondo
state became so vulnerable to the corruptive
influence of the APC because of the hash
economic situation in the Country inflicted on
Nigerians by the APC Administration which have
indeed made all Nigerians virtually beggars in
their own Country”.
The party blamed INEC for railing to allow
postponement of the polls despite that its
candidate Eyitayo Jegede was disadvantaged
having been hampered from campaigning by
lawsuits.

“The actions of INEC in collaboration with the
APC led Administration left us no time to
campaign and sell our Candidate and Party
Manifesto to the electorates in Ondo State.
“Our persistent call for the postponement of the
Election which was backed and supported by
more than 20 other political parties were all
rejected by INEC which were acting the script of
the APC.

“It was a carefully planned and well-orchestrated
strategy to rig the Election well in advance by
preventing the PDP from planning and
campaigning for the Election. The APC has hereby
introduced a new formula of rigging Election in
Nigeria.
“In view of the fact that the Election was blatantly
manipulated from the beginning to the end to
favour the APC, we vehemently reject the results
of the November 26, 2016 Gubernatorial Election
in Ondo State,” he said.
“We have instructed our Candidate and the Ondo
State Chapter of our Party to proceed to the
Tribunal to challenge the Outcome of the Election.
“We call on the Judiciary to redeem Nigeria’s
image on this matter as we request for the total
Cancellation of the Election in Ondo State,” the
party said.

Microsoft takes on Slack with workplace chat tool

The new service -- called Microsoft Teams -- will
be a part of Office 365, which includes Microsoft
Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Considering Office
365 has more than 85 million commercial monthly
active users, the company is hoping to lure those
core customers to the new platform.
Teams is designed to make chatting with
coworkers fun and easier. In addition to holding
conversations in chat rooms, Microsoft ( ,
Tech30) users will be able to reply with
comments in threaded conversations and video
chat with others. There's also an option to send
emoji, GIFs, custom memes and stickers via the
platform, and connect your Twitter feed.

The service has a heavy focus on bots, allowing
users to ask for details about people on the team
or chat directly with businesses. Partnerships
range from Alaskan Airlines, to help book tickets,
to startup Poncho, which gives weather and
lifestyle updates like how bad allergies might be
today.
Teams will be available to Office 365 customers
with certain plans, such as Business or Business
Essentials. It's currently in preview across 181
countries in 18 languages and will roll out
officially in early 2017. It will run on Windows,
Mac, Android, iOS and web platforms.

The service will directly compete with Slack, a
popular workplace chat tool with more than 5.8
million weekly active users.
The startup, whose customers include IBM ( ,
Tech30), LinkedIn ( , Tech30 ) and Conde
Nast, took out a full-page ad in The New York
Times on Wednesday ahead of Microsoft's
announcement.

Relate: Microsoft goes after Apple users with

page in the Times and publish an open letter," and
then you do. pic.twitter.com/BQiEawRA6d
— Stewart Butterfield (@stewart) November 2,
2016
"Dear Microsoft... We're genuinely excited to have
some competition," the ad said. "We realized a
few years ago that the value of switching to Slack
was so obvious and the advantages so
overwhelming that every business would be using
Slack, or "something just like it," within the
decade. It's validating to see you've come around
to the same way of thinking."
Slack also offered "advice" for Microsoft, stating
"all this is harder than it looks."
Microsoft's news comes one week after it showed
off its first all-in-one Surface PC called Surface
Studio ($2,999), which has a strong focus on
creativity. The move highlighted the company's
desire for users to start thinking of its products
as more than just productivity tools.
It also unveiled its next-generation Windows
software -- called Windows 10 Creator Update --
that includes virtual reality, augmented reality and
3D support.
But its latest effort into the workplace chat game
is a part of a larger trend from tech companies.

Last month, Facebook ( , Tech30) unveiled
Workplace, which looks similar to its existing
social network but is designed for employees to
chat with one another. Users can visit online
bulletin boards for their company to see
announcements, organize events and watch work-
related live streams.
This isn't Microsoft's first shot at business-
focused social networks. The company acquired
Yammer for $1.8 billion dollars in 2012 and most
recently bought LinkedIn for $26. 2 billion

THE MATHEMATICS OF LIFE A small truth to make our Life 100% successful

MTV Base names Olamide as hottest Naija artiste

2015
If the question, “Who is Nigeria’s hottest artist of 2015?” had been posed to anyone on the street over the past few weeks, the answer would most likely have been “Olamide”, and with good reason. The panel on the MTV Base TV special #BaseNaijaHottestArtist however, needed two days of intense debate to be absolutely sure before adding the flourish on top of Baddo ‘s wonderful year. 2015 has seen Olamide release several singles that topped the MTV Base Official Naija Top Ten for many weeks, in addition to his successful promotion of protégé, Lil Kesh, and the recent surprise release of his fifth studio album, “Eyan Mayweather” which has been topping charts. Newly acclaimed MTV Base hottest artiste, Olamide commented on the announcement, “It’s a great feeling to know that my work has made so much impact on Nigerians and I’m humbled by this announcement. Thank you MTV Base.” On the panel that ranked ten of the hottest artists in Nigeria for the year 2015 were, OAPs Omalicha, Do2dtun and Sade Ladipo. Joining the trio were showbiz entrepreneur Olisa Adibua, entertainment journalist Osagie Alonge, DJ Spinall and VJ Ehiz. Commenting on the reason behind the selection, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Viacom International, Alex Okosi stated, “ Nigerian music has evolved from where it was ten years ago and with the aid of the panelists we have chosen, we hope that the Base Naija Hottest Artist 2015’ will spark up the kind of conversations we need among music fans, thought leaders and critics in order to improve on the type of music we put out there and produce some of the best talents globally and not just Africa alone.” Making a surprise appearance at number 2 on the list was Wizkid who had a big year in 2015 with his single “Ojuelegba” getting remixed by superstar grime artist Skepta and American superstar, Drake. Davido sneaked in at number 3 ahead of Patoranking after a year that saw him tour extensively and release a hit collaboration with Meek Mill. Yesterday’s number 2 and 3, Korede Bello and Yemi Alade dropped to number 5 and 6 on the final list after being displaced by Patoranking who made the list at number 4 after a year that saw him scoop several hit features and a bumper distribution deal with VP Records. Yesterday’s number 9 Harrysong drops off the final list alongside Cynthia Morgan to be replaced by Lil Kesh and Kiss Daniel. Making up the rest of the list are Burna Boy and Phyno at number 8 and 10 respectively. Speaking after the panel session, Olisa Adibua remarked, “It was a very robust discussion and debate because there are probably 15 or 20 Nigerian artistes who had a decent chance of making it onto the list this year, but there were only 10 slots. I’m happy that MTV Base has created this platform not just because it promotes Nigerian music which obviously is a good thing, but also because it fosters a spirit of healthy competition. I’m sure that a number of artists who were perhaps a bit unlucky not to make the list this year will work their socks off next year to make it onto the 2016 list, and that is good news for all of us whether we are involved in the music business or we just like good Nigerian music.” The show ranks the year’s ten biggest performing artists in Nigeria using a list of six criteria namely: Style, Impact, Sales/Success, Buzz, Music and Intangibles.

How to prevent premature ejaculation

Sex is pleasurable; it is an essential part of dating. While it may not represent the major reason for being in a relationship, it carries so much weight its presence or absence has the ability to wreck a relationship.

Man in bed Sex, being an important aspect of dating, is an area men particularly love to lord over. Men by default are egoistic, having a poor sexual performance rubs hard on their ego. Most men love to be in charge; even the calm ones seem to have a different attitude when it comes to sexual escapades. Men love to display their strengths and show their skills when it comes to sex. It is not only embarrassing to get in the act and spill the beans even before digging deep, it is humiliating for ladies to want more without being able to deliver. Premature ejaculation not only inhibits the sexual satisfaction of both the man and woman, it withers their zeal for sex until their sex pattern changes. Men have however grown beyond this limitation. They have found ways to improve their sexual health and prevent premature ejaculation from holding them back. Find some of the things men take to prevent premature ejaculation: 1. Revnol Also known as the blue pills, this drug is being used by many men to boost or improve their sexual health. It has also been reported to be used for ladies as it makes them more charged sexually. 2. Skooshes In Nigeria, skooshes or scooshes as it is being called is a drink that resembles the Nigerian wine-colored drink called Zobo. It is in fact, Zobo; however, with more additives than the common drink being sold here and there. Skooshes is made from a blend of Zobo, Marijuana, Codeine and local rum.As dangerous as the ingredients of this blend are, it is being sold at various bars around Nigeria. According to findings, men are able to record better performances during sex after drinking this blend. This blend was also reported to have the ability to delay ejaculation until the men are fully satiated.

3. Tramadol Although this is a drug originally made to reduce pain, severe pain, men have been able to generate more use for it especially when it comes to their sexual health. Tramadol is not to be consumed with alcohol, sedatives or tranquilizers as the drug ingredients do not interact well with the mentioned compounds. However, many of the men out there know how to use this drug to their advantage. 4. Monkey Tail If you are a Nigerian and one who is familiar with the Nigerian music, then this name might have been heard from one or two songs played around. Men often take Monkey tail when they want to spice up the sexual experience in or out of the bedroom. Shockingly, the “Monkey-Tail” is a locally made blend of gin and Indian hemp. And what is more shocking is the rate at which men take this blend in order to enhance libido and prevent premature ejaculation. Although there are a few drugs aimed at correcting premature ejaculation in the society, it is alarming that this is what most of the men in the society could relate with as they are sure of its effectiveness after the end use.

5. Alcohol Alcohol is another drink consumed by men in their bid to prevent premature ejaculation and boost their libido. Alcohol normally, when consumed in excess has the potentials to fill people with courage. Most people see beyond their limitations when they drink, this is referred to as Dutch-Courage. In sex, alcohol has the ability to delay the orgasm of some men and in few cases, prevent the men from ejaculating at all. Thus, men are able to attempt more rounds of sex after consuming it. Although, there are a few drugs aimed at correcting premature ejaculation in the society, it is alarming that this is what most of the men in the society could relate with as they are sure of its effectiveness.

Nevertheless, it is essential to know the quality of these things often consumed. Be sure that whatever you consume is certified by NAFDAC in order not to put your safety at risk.

6 Things about Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+

1. Slightly smaller and thinner. At less than 0.3 inches thin, six-inches long and less than three- inches wide, the metal and glass bodied Note 5 is smaller than the Note 4 without sacrificing any of its giant 5.7-inch screen size. Samsung said this phone was designed with multitasking in mind. 2. Better camera. Samsung bumped up the selfie camera to 5 MP in the Note 5 (up from 3.7 MP in the Note 4). Like the Galaxy S6 Edge+, video shot on the Note 5 can be viewed on a 4K TV. For all you Periscope and Meerkat lives-streamers -- there is also a brand new full HD Live Broadcast feature, which lets you stream video privately or publicly to YouTube. 3. An improved pen. The Note's signature "S Pen" stylus got some upgrades. You can now write things down even when the screen is off. There's a scroll capture feature, which will let you screen- shot an entire website from top to bottom, and a way to save an image of just part of a page. 4. Battery life could be a bit worse. The Note 4 had a 3220 milliampere battery, while the new Note 5 has a smaller 3000 mAh battery. It's unclear yet what that will mean for battery life -- sometimes software upgrades can improve battery-life more than smaller batteries shorten it. But Samsung also said its wireless charging has improved so that a full charge takes two hours now instead of three. If you use a cord, expect to wait an hour and a half. 5. Four color options and two memory size options: black (which sometimes looks like a dark blue), white, gold, and silver. In the United States, only the black and gold will be available. It comes with either 32 GB or 64 GB of memory storage. Samsung has removed ability to add expandable memory. 6. Prepare to pay at least $250. That's how much a 32 GB version with a two-year AT&T or Sprint contract will cost. A hundred dollars more will get you a 64 GB version. Without a commitment, expect to hand over $740 or $840 at AT&T, and about $20 less at Sprint.

1. Screen is curved on both sides, and it's very light. Unlike the Note 4 Edge, which was only curved on the right side, the Galaxy S6 Edge+ curves on both edges. Similar to the smaller Galaxy S6 Edge, the Edge+ 5.7-inch screen allows users to program shortcuts that can be accessed while the phone is face down.

2. Same camera, better filming and broadcasting. The Edge+ features a 16 MP rear camera and 5 MP front camera. Video shot on this phone should look good on a 4K TV, and there is a new live-stream feature which lets you broadcast to contacts or on YouTube live in HD.

3. Only two memory storage sizes. The new phone has a 4 GB RAM and comes in either a 32 GB or 64 GB size. (The Edge also has a 128 GB option.) Samsung has removed ability to add expandable memory.

4. Battery should last longer, but it's still not great. With 3000mAh, it's exactly the same as last year's Note 4 but a bit better than the Edge, which has a 2600mAh battery.

5. There are four two color options: black, white, silver, and gold. In the U.S., only the black and white will be available.

6. It gets expensive. A no-contract 64 GB sized Edge+ will run you $915 at AT&T, or $888 at Sprint. With a two-year agreement, it's $400 at AT&T or $450 at Sprint. The smaller sized 32 GB will cost $300 with a AT&T contract, and $814 without. Sprint's 2-year agreement deal is $350, and $792 without a contract.

Apple engineers build 'a computer that cooks'

What do you get when you put ten former Apple engineers together in one kitchen? An oven equipped with an iPhone-like interface and built-in camera to help you "optimize" your cooking.

Co-founders Matt Van Horn and Nikhil Bhogal created June, a computerized oven that "thinks" like a chef. The oven, which costs $1,495, uses sensors to recognize the type of food you're cooking and instruct you on how to cook it best. You don't have to preheat the oven, and, best of all, the smartphone app sends you a notification when the food is ready. A year and a half ago, Van Horn and Bhogal left their jobs at social networking startup Path and started working on the concept. June officially launched a month ago, although the product won't ship until next year. "It has the guts of a phone or a high-end tablet," said Bhogal, who worked as an engineer on Apple's (AAPL , Tech30 ) first generation iPhone. "Essentially, it's a computer that cooks." The infused the oven with Apple's design ethos as well. Van Horn and Bhogal hired Robert Brunner to design the oven. Brunner was responsible for the design of Apple's PowerBook. He has since created his own design firm Ammunition, which is behind well-known products like Beats by Dre, Square and Polaroid redesign. "We wanted to make a beautiful oven so we looked at every surface, every detail, every bit of functionality," Brunner said.

June isn't meant to replace the oven -- it sits on the countertop -- and isn't equipped to cook larger meals. Van Horn, who was part of the founding teams at Path and Digg, says it's the offline world that most excites him these days. As mobile phones get cheaper and add processing power, there are going to be sensors everywhere -- which creates new frontiers for innovation. "As entrepreneurs, we're able to take advantage of the supply chain and put a 2.3 gigahertz processor in our oven," he says. "I think cameras and sensors plus intelligence is a really interesting trend." June now has 23 employees who work out of a home in one of San Francisco's wealthiest neighborhoods. And while Silicon Valley companies are known for their perks, June employees enjoy a unique advantage: a large kitchen equipped with everything from chocolate chip cookie ingredients to steaks that are constantly used for beta testing June's intelligence.

10 things you will know if you have a grandmother in Nigeria

If you live in Nigeria, then you would understand it when we say grandmothers are awesome. There could be exceptions though; and that is when your grandmother is someone with the character Patience Ozokwor plays most times in the Nollywood movies.

Generally, grandmothers are sweet and loving women who are known to be the perfect children spoilers. They love to pamper their grandchildren to a point the parents of those children start to worry about the future of those kids. There are so many things synonymous to having a grandmother in Nigeria. Most of us still have memories of the grandmothers who spent beautiful moments with us while we were growing up. We also remember them for the ‘aproko’ they did to our parents concerning the mischievous things we did. All in all, we love them and do not ever want to see them go. Below are some of the things you would know if you have a grandmother in Nigeria: 1. When she forces you to eat If you have a grandmother in Nigeria then you would understand that you can never be full as you are expected to eat everything she makes. Grandmothers seem to notice when you have added weight or lost some. They could turn you to a foodie and make sure your eating habit improves before you leave. 2. When she takes your side over your parents It feels good having a supporter when you have an argument with your parents. Grandmothers would never allow your mum to beat you as they would always have something to say in your favor.

3. When they crack you up You will have a swell time when they start to act up. Most grandmothers are humorous and would make you laugh hard when they try to do certain things. They also have excellent stories to share with you every time. Many children listen to folktales from their grandmothers; these tales are always with life lessons. 4. When she complains about you not calling her Most grandmothers complain about their grandchildren not calling them as if they call them too. They feel they are being left out and want to be carried along every now and then. Even while they complain, they do this sweetly and make us feel loved in the process. 5. When she complains about your hairstyle and makeup Seeing their grandchildren wear a certain hairstyle with lots of makeup on baffles most grandmothers. They would go on lecturing them about how things went in their own days. They also do not like the fact that this present day generation is going naked because of the fashion trend. 6. When the only station you can watch is African magic While most people love their grandmothers in Nigeria, they get tired of watching only African magic channels. These are the only channels that seem to fascinate the grandmothers as they could relate more with the movies being shown there. 7. When she taunts you about getting married Grandmothers assume the role of the mothers sometimes and mount pressure on their grandchildren when they feel they are of marriageable ages. They are always eager to see their great-grandchildren.

8. When she wants you to fix her phone Just like some of our Nigerian mothers who do not know how to handle phones, our grandmothers could be worse. There is always one complaint or the other about the phone. If you are not helping her load airtime on it, you would be helping her adjust the ringing volume. 9. When she makes some delicious stew Grandmothers’ meals would always be delicious. They have certain spices they add to their soups to give it a different taste. While it may not be the modern day we are used to, it would be highly satisfactory. 10. When she cries every time you leave Grandmothers are so emotional; they always have tears in their eyes each time you leave them. They never stop waving until your car is out of their sight. Grandmothers are simply the best.

Finally Activates Safety Check After Bombings In Nigeria

has activated its “Safety Check” feature for Nigeria after more than 30 people were killed and dozens left wounded in a suicide attack at a market in the north-eastern city of Yola on Tuesday evening. The social networking as well as other social media had been harshly criticised for activating the ‘check-in’ feature after a series of coordinated terrorist attacks in Paris , the capital of France, on 13 November but not for other terrorist attacks occurring around the world. Facebook activates safety check in Nigeria after Yola blast The safety check that allows Facebook users to inform their friends and family they are safe was earlier only used during natural disasters. But it seems the social networking giant has changed its selective use of the service as Facebook CEO and founder, Mark Zuckerberg announced the Yola Safety Check in a Facebook post today: READ ALSO: Paris Attacks: Why Are Nigerians Not As Responsive To Tragedies At Home? Nigerians react After the news about a special saftety check tool spread around the Internet, Nigerians took to their Facebook pages to express their gratitude, with Adeleke Edun Mark among them. He wrote: “Last week I expressed my displeasure about your company for what I perceived as a racial discrimination against African countries particularly Nigeria on the issue of showing solidarity to France and not doing same for African countries. However, your quick reaction this morning to the bombing in Nigeria yesterday has proved me wrong and based on this I retract my earlier statement about Facebook. Having said that, your submission this morning really makes sense, I agree with you that all these attacks are too common in some places and you cannot post about all of them. Your timely response concerning Nigeria today somehow confirms to me that you actually saw my protest message dropped on your wall and mail box and used same as a corrective measure, shows how sensitive you are as a leader and as human being. Thank you so much my brother.” However, even after this Facebook’s move there were some unsatisfied social media users who also expected a “flag filter” option, which allows to overlay a flag of the particular country on their profile picture as a way of expressing empathy and solidarity, to appear.

Hackers can now crash cars from hundreds of miles away

Hackers have long been able to cause a lot of damage to people's privacy, reputations, and pocketbooks. But until recently, it usually wasn't possible for hackers to kill people.

Now that's changed. In a terrifying demonstration to Wired reporter Andy Greenberg, two hackers have shown the ability to hack into a Jeep Cherokee from miles away, gain control of its internal network, and then tamper with its transmission, brakes, and other safety- critical features. As the two hackers remotely toyed with the air-conditioning, radio, and windshield wipers, I mentally congratulated myself on my courage under pressure. That’s when they cut the transmission. Immediately my accelerator stopped working. As I frantically pressed the pedal and watched the RPMs climb, the Jeep lost half its speed, then slowed to a crawl. This occurred just as I reached a long overpass, with no shoulder to offer an escape. The experiment had ceased to be fun. The hackers, Charlie Miller and Chris Valasek, are professional security researchers, so they aren't planning to use their discovery for evil. But malicious hackers could use the same techniques to remotely tamper with cars across the country: A set of GPS coordinates, along with a vehicle identification number, make, model, and IP address, appears on the laptop screen. It’s a Dodge Ram. Miller plugs its GPS coordinates into Google Maps to reveal that it’s cruising down a highway in Texarkana, Texas. He keeps scanning, and the next vehicle to appear on his screen is a Jeep Cherokee driving around a highway cloverleaf between San Diego and Anaheim, California. Then he locates a Dodge Durango, moving along a rural road somewhere in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. When I ask him to keep scanning, he hesitates. Seeing the actual, mapped locations of these unwitting strangers’ vehicles—and knowing that each one is vulnerable to their remote attack— unsettles him. The researchers also know how to disable a vehicle's brakes remotely, and they're working on the ability to take over the car's steering. Miller and Valasek notified Chrysler about this problem nine months ago, and the company recently released a software patch to fix the vulnerability. But customers have to manually upgrade the software themselves, which means that thousands of Chrysler drivers won't realize they're driving around in a car that could be crashed by hackers at any time. This is an issue the automobile industry is going to need to take a lot more seriously, and hopefully it won't take a spate of hacking deaths for that to happen. Driving around in a car with known-vulnerable software is dangerous — car companies should be proactively notifying customers about the defect, and perhaps even doing a formal recall. They should also be working on better remote- update capabilities, so that security flaws can be fixed automatically. But more broadly, car companies need to realize that they're in the software business now. Security is one of the most important responsibilities of a major software company. Companies like Microsoft and Google have hundreds of security experts on staff — and security flaws in Windows and Android generally won't get anyone killed. Car hacking can get people killed, so car companies should be taking computer security even more seriously.

Facebook is now able to scan your photos for recognizable faces, even before you upload them to the social network.

For many years, Facebook has been scanning photos for faces after customers uploaded them. But the company's new (optional) "Photo Magic" feature is the first time that Facebook has crept outside the boundaries of its own app, doing face recognition directly in your camera roll. If the faces match up with customers' friends, Facebook will suggest people to share the photos with.

The feature can be turned on and off. Facebook (FB , Tech30) says Photo Magic will help make sharing easier. While the old process wasn't exactly rocket science, it did take several steps, including navigating into your photos folder, clicking share, selecting which app you want to share with, and then selecting the people you want to receive your photo.

A notification that allows you to just click "share" will save a lot of taps. "It's still way too difficult to share photos with friends, and receive all the ones you're in," said David Marcus, head of the Messenger app, in a Facebook post. Facebook has rolled out Photo Magic in Australia as a test market. Assuming all goes well, Marcus said the Photo Magic feature will soon come to the United States.

Herbs To Get Rid Of Mosquitoes

Plant them on your seedbed or a window- sill and sleep well.

The citronella grass is one of the most popular ingredients in repellents that drive mosquitoes away. Its growing is pretty simple. This is a perennial tufting grass which rises high enough. HTC's new phone looks like an iPhone, but it's way cheaper

Hey, does this look familiar to you? HTC has introduced a smartphone with a flat aluminum back, curved edges, antenna break lines near the top and bottom and a camera that bumps out very slightly at the top. It has a speaker grille and a headphone jack on either side of the power port on the bottom. The new HTC One A9 smartphone is a dead-ringer for the iPhone 6S in virtually every way -- except for its price tag. It costs just $400, compared to the iPhone's $650. HTC said it was a coincidence that the new One A9 follows the same design guidelines that the iPhone (and to a large degree the Samsung Galaxy S6) hold to. "We've gotten that feedback before, but it wasn't intentional," said Drew Bamford, head of HTC's creative labs. "We view the fact that a competitor reached the same conclusion that we did as an affirmation that we are right about where this space is going." HTC was the first Android smartphone maker, and it enjoyed early success in the smartphone space. But it has struggled mightily lately as Samsung, Apple and a host of Chinese smartphone makers have passed it by. Its flagship HTC One M line of smartphones has received mostly positive reviews. But its thicker profile scared off some customers, and its signature dual front-facing stereo speakers failed to win over many potential buyers. There is still a segment of customers that will want the high- end features and quality of the M-line, Bamford said. But he noted that the new A-line was built for the vast majority of smartphone customers who are looking for something a little more balanced: A phone that's thinner, more stylish and customized to their everyday needs.

It has a more run-of-the-mill processor, just a decent amount of memory and a pretty tiny battery. But it's light, has a fingerprint sensor, quick charging technology, a better-than- average camera (on paper, anyway), and it's the first third- party phone to ship with Google's new Android Marshmallow operating system.

HTC also said that it put a lot of focus on the headphone jack, promising better-than-CD audio quality. That used to be a decent amount of phone for $400. But Motorola and OnePlus set the price bar so high (or low, depending on how you look at it), that the $400 price tag seems a bit steep. The Moto X Pure Edition is a true flagship phone that costs $400, and the excellent OnePlus 2 can be had for $329.

The HTC One A9 can be pre-ordered from HTC.com on Tuesday, and it will go on sale in November.

Oled

A typical OLED is composed of a layer of organic materials situated between two electrodes, the anode and cathode , all deposited on a substrate . The organic molecules are electrically conductive as a result of delocalization of pi electrons caused by conjugation over part or all of the molecule. These materials have conductivity levels ranging from insulators to conductors, and are therefore considered organic semiconductors . The highest occupied and lowest unoccupied molecular orbitals (HOMO and LUMO ) of organic semiconductors are analogous to the valence and conduction bands of inorganic semiconductors.

Originally, the most basic polymer OLEDs consisted of a single organic layer. One example was the first light-emitting device synthesised by J. H. Burroughes et al. , which involved a single layer of poly(p-phenylene vinylene). However multilayer OLEDs can be fabricated with two or more layers in order to improve device efficiency. As well as conductive properties, different materials may be chosen to aid charge injection at electrodes by providing a more gradual electronic profile, [22] or block a charge from reaching the opposite electrode and being wasted. [23] Many modern OLEDs incorporate a simple bilayer structure, consisting of a conductive layer and an emissive layer. More recent developments in OLED architecture improves quantum efficiency (up to 19%) by using a graded heterojunction. [24] In the graded heterojunction architecture, the composition of hole and electron-transport materials varies continuously within the emissive layer with a dopant emitter. The graded heterojunction architecture combines the benefits of both conventional architectures by improving charge injection while simultaneously balancing charge transport within the emissive region. [25] During operation, a voltage is applied across the OLED such that the anode is positive with respect to the cathode. Anodes are picked based upon the quality of their optical transparency, electrical conductivity, and chemical stability. [26] A current of electrons flows through the device from cathode to anode, as electrons are injected into the LUMO of the organic layer at the cathode and withdrawn from the HOMO at the anode. This latter process may also be described as the injection of electron holes into the HOMO. Electrostatic forces bring the electrons and the holes towards each other and they recombine forming an exciton , a bound state of the electron and hole. This happens closer to the emissive layer, because in organic semiconductors holes are generally more mobile than electrons. The decay of this excited state results in a relaxation of the energy levels of the electron, accompanied by emission of radiation whose frequency is in the visible region . The next version of Android will be called 'Marshmallow'

Google shared some sweet news on Monday: The next version of its mobile operating system will be called Android Marshmallow.

As you may or may not know, nearly every version of Android has been named after a candy or dessert in alphabetical order, starting with the letter "c." (The first two versions were just called Alpha and Beta.) "Some people think they're dessert-themed, but it's really technically tasty treats," Hiroshi Lockheimer, Android's vice president of engineering, said in a behind the scenes video. The Marshmallow announcement is a bit surprising to Android insiders, who widely believed the next version would be called "Macadamia Nut Cookie." But Google has thrown Android-naming curveballs before. In 2013, two versions of Android ago, Google assigned the name "Kit Kat," when everyone thought "Key Lime Pie" was a done-deal. In an effort to do something "fun and unexpected," Google struck a last-minute deal with Nestle. "A lot of people throw in their ideas -- internally as well as externally," said Lockheimer. A French pastry association even sent Google a treat for naming consideration -- a kouglof -- for Android K. Developers got a first look at the new operating system back in May, during Google's I/O conference. Google gave the final version of Android Marshmallow to developers on Monday, and it will launch to the public in the fall. Android Marshmallow focuses on subtle improvements to the user experience, including squashing a ton of bugs and overhauling basic features. The biggest addition is Android Pay, Google's (GOOGL , Tech30 ) latest take on mobile payments. It's pretty similar to Apple (AAPL , Tech30 ) Pay, and a big improvement over Google Wallet, the companies earlier attempt at a mobile wallet. Other Android M improvements include a new permissions tool that gives users more control over what data they share with apps. There are battery saving features, in Marshmallow, as well as a new tool that lets you open Chrome browser tabs directly inside apps instead of asking users to choose between Chrome and an app. Here's a look back at all of Android's sugary names: Cupcake Donut Éclair Froyo Gingerbread Honeycomb Ice Cream Sandwich Jelly Bean Kit Kat Lollipop ...and now, we have Marshmallow.

You will never want to drink Coca-Cola again after seeing this!

Do you know what you’re actually putting into your body when drinking your favorite carbonated sugary drink? After seeing this video, you might think twice about that soda in your fridge! When the Cola is boiled, the water evaporates, leaving behind copious amounts of sugar that turn into the substance that looks like tar. Coca Cola contains 65 grams of sugar in one 590 ml bottle, and a whopping 108 grams in a liter. By the way, Pepsi is even sweeter, with 69 grams of sugar in a 591 ml bottle and 112 grams in a liter! Now, here’s some food for thought: the American Heart Association writes 180,000 annual deaths may be linked to the consumption of sugary soft drinks. So next time you want to drink soda, think of your health… and also of this video. Please, share this video with friends and your family!

.

Three things that destroy the love between a husband and wife

The ability to manage conflicts and resolve problems are qualities every man should possess Communication breakdown will always arise between husbands and wives There are three things some men are guilty of in marriage and a few women

Marriage is an institution where no one is expected to graduate from. Learning in marital life continues till death parts each of the spouses, as long as there is no misunderstanding between them, in terms of divorce. A man not listening to his wife due to some misunderstanding

There are so many things that come between a man and a woman, while as husband and wife. Some of these things bring so much discord between the couple, thereby leading to absence of trust, which is the foundation of marriage. The three things that majorly bring set-backs to holy matrimony are: Extramarital affairs/bigamy/infidelity; alcohol consumption and gambling/going to club 1. Extramarital affairs Either you call it infidelity or adultery or by whatever name you intend calling it, it is one of the main canker worms, rampant in all societies. It is sad to hear stories of a man after saying he is legally married to one wife, having many concubines outside the home. This ugly trend is fast becoming a norm in most societies of the world. About five years ago, a radio presenter in one of the Radio stations in Lagos state gave a shocking information, when he said bigamy is rampant in Lagos state. Bigamy is marrying another person after being in a marriage already. For Allah’s sake, where is the world turning into? Men are more guilty of this. A good number of happy homes have been turned into theatre of sadness due to this unholy act. In one of the Asian countries, the government eased the laws on adultery, as it said, it will not be punishable under the law. This clearly shows, laws made by man, are one of the causes of broken homes, which in turn, affect the children, thereby leading to chaos in the larger society In the Glorious Qur’an, Allah said in chapter 17 verse 32: “And do not approach unlawful intercourse. Indeed, it is ever an immorality and evil as a way.” What an excellent instruction from our Creator. However, man believes he knows it all. The resulting effects of fornication, infidelity, bigamy, prostitution and adultery are nothing, but high rate of daily divorce, single parenting and lots of other problems in the society at large. 2. Alcohol intake It has been scientifically proven that alcohol consumption has so much side effects on the metabolic activities of the body. Alcohol consumption has been linked to some forms of cancers. Husbands who are drunkards, do beat up their wives, especially after becoming intoxicated. Alcohol makes someone to lose his mental processes. Some men find it difficult to spend on their wives and children just because of alcohol consumption. They prefer to spend their last kobo, or even steal from their wives on alcohol. Some children at a very young age take after their parents because they drink alcohol. Likewise, women, who sell alcohol bring more problems to their children, especially their daughters. This is because, the mothers’ customers sometimes lure the daughters into unlawful sex, thereby destroying the future of the young girls. Some girls later become wayward and also menace to the society. 3.
Gambling All over the world, gambling has been popularised so much that, even a married woman gambles. This is so sad! It has become an addict of some parents to gamble with the money they ought to spend on their children. When they fail to spend, some children themselves take to crime and other societal vices, which ruin the future of their children. Gambling has been packaged so much that, both educated and illiterates are involved. Allah mentioned both alcohol, gambling and some other evil acts in the chapter 5 verse 91 of His book, Al Qur’an, he said: “Satan only wants to cause between you animosity and hatred through intoxicants (alcohol) and gambling and to avert you from remembrance of Allah and from prayer. So, will you not desist?”

5 things women do to lure men into marriage

One really cannot blame women who trick men into marrying them; it is a difficult world for them out there. Women are often judged for not being married and are subjected to some baseless hypocritical criticism.

The society has a way of labeling these women and making them feel like they have missed an important event in their lives. Some even brew stories of all sorts insinuating that the ladies must have spent their early years waywardly. These and all sorts of things push the ladies beyond their limits and make them go to any length in tying a man down. Ladies carefully plan their way into a man’s heart and house. They would do anything just for their titles to change. Below are some of the things women do to trick men into marrying them: 1. They become obedient Every man wants to marry a submissive woman; a woman who is hardworking, obedient, prudent and understanding. Most women know these and many more traits are the things men want in the women so they act out all these things. They become a different person entirely and do all they could to please the men. The men in turn, blindly fall for this and choose women that possess all these qualities.

2. They become more religious In the society now, people believe good- natured people can majorly be found in places of worship. Women know this well and act on it; they become frequent fellowship goer and start to partake in the activities that would make them become more noticeable. Not like there are no good girls in the religious centers, they have simply been infiltrated by those looking forward to getting married. Most men who want to settle down prefer picking their partners from religious groups as they believe they would be good natured and homely. Sadly, most of them are just disillusioned and do not know that it is a coy for the ladies to get married.

3. Getting pregnant Many ladies trick men into marrying them by becoming pregnant all of a sudden. They might not have planned for it but then the ladies would insist on having the baby and start to share different prophecies about them being warned not to abort. Some innocent men fall prey to this and are forced to marry those women. Six out of every ten men could have married a different person but for the fact that another woman got pregnant for them about that same time.

4. Pretending to be virgins Women also trick men into marrying them by portraying themselves as being virgins. Men love the idea of getting married to women who are untouched; who have never been defiled for reasons best known to them. So while they must have had lots of fun as bachelors, they still get charmed by the idea of marrying virgins for a change. Ladies use this to work their way into their lives. It is a safe point for them as the men can never ascertain if they are truly virgins until the wedding night.

5. The family’s favorite Some women also act so nice towards the men’s family such that they become everyone’s favorite. They do this so well that they have advocates in the house who would speak for them even when they are not around. Some ladies plan their ways into the men’s houses by dancing to everyone’s tune and becoming the ideal daughter-in-law in no time.
